Wood Graining

It is amazing how well something as beautiful and complicated as natural wood grain can be simulated by a skilled decorative artist. Please view the samples of my work below, clicking on the ones that interest you for details and close-up pictures.

Time for a Change?

The owners decided they wanted their fireplace to change from white paint to dark wood. Please click the images on the left to see how the richness of the faux walnut finish stands up under close scrutiny.

Make it Fit

The woodgrain on this old school desk is entirely faux! Even when viewing it close-up, it is nearly impossible to tell it from natural wood grain.

The appropriateness of this piece in the home of a former schoolteacher (like myself) is part of its charm!

Glaze it!

Glaze is such a marvelous medium for built-in cabinets. It can be painted on like standard wood graining as seen on these door frames. The panelling design is treated as decoration to match other metallic objects in the room.
