Wall Finishes
Layered washes or glazes set the mood of a room.
Two-Color Wash This example is a wash of linen white over a reed green. A soft white over any color makes for a cloudy parchment effect.
Old World Glaze Besides being beautiful, wall glazing is a very durable finish.
Free-Hand Painting on Glazing Free-hand painted acanthus leaf swirls give a provincial charm to this powder room. This design wraps around corners and scrolls off the wall.
Three-Color Wash Because this room had no natural light, light was "created" by a golden yellow wash over a linen white base, then followed by pink and linen washes. Three-color washes can unite multiple paint colors to bring harmony throughout your house.
